Only A Mountain - Have Faith - Matt. 17:14-20

Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy

Matthew 17:14-20

14 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to Him a certain man, kneeling down to Him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to Me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Genesis 18:14 reminds "us" as believers- "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" :

In the scripture text for today's message, JESUS, OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, tells us - in Matthew 17:20 :

"Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

What are "you" personally facing in your life today...that appears to be a mountain?

What are you dealing with that seems like it is too big to overcome?

What has "overshadowed" and dominated your thinking...that is causing you to lose faith in GOD?

HAVE FAITH! BELIEVE IN JESUS! BELIEVE IN THE "DIFFERENCE" JESUS CAN MAKE IN YOUR LIFE! HE LOVES YOU AND WANTS WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU!

Jesus is telling us in our scripture as taken from Matthew 17:20 to - HAVE FAITH! 

Jesus reminds us that - IF WE HAVE FAITH ...AS SMALL AS A MUSTARD SEED...WE CAN SAY TO OUR "MOUNTAIN" (OUR PROBLEM, OUR DIFFICULTY, OUR CHALLENGE, OUR SITUATION, "WHATEVER IS BOTHERING US")...WE CAN TELL IT TO MOVE!

WITH OUR "FAITH" IN "JESUS" (...AND WHAT "HE" CAN DO)...WE CAN TELL OUR "MOUNTAIN" TO "MOVE OUT OF OUR WAY"...AND IT WILL MOVE!

REMEMBER - IT IS "NOT" FAITH IN WHAT "WE" CAN DO...IT IS FAITH IN "JESUS" AND IN HIS POWER, HIS WILL AND HIS MIGHT!

WE ARE NOT ALONE! FOR JESUS SAID, IN HEBREWS 13:5 - "I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU, NOR FORSAKE YOU"...
