For Every Mountain - God Is Sovereign - Eph. 1:11

This is Namma for Christ with the seventy-seventh inspirational message dated Saturday, January 23rd, 2016. The title of this message is: "For Every Mountain - God Is Sovereign - Eph. 1:11". This message is based on the below scripture text from Ephesians as found in the New Testament  - where the writer, the Apostle Paul, informs the reader about the SOVEREIGNTY of GOD and how GOD "works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will" :

Ephesians 1:11

New International Version (NIV)

11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will...

Sovereignty of God

The Sovereignty of God is the biblical teaching that all things are under God's rule and control, and that nothing happens without His direction or permission. God works not just some things but all things according to the counsel of His own will (see Eph. 1:11). His purposes are all-inclusive and never thwarted (see Isa. 46:11); nothing takes Him by surprise. The sovereignty of God is not merely that God has the power and right to govern all things, but that He does so, always and without exception. In other words, God is not merely sovereign de jure (in principle), but sovereign de facto (in practice).

Quotes

"What do we mean by [the sovereignty of God]? We mean the supremacy of God, the kingship of God, the god-hood of God. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that God is God. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the Most High, doing according to His will in the army of Heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth, so that none can stay His hand or say unto Him what doest Thou? (Dan. 4:35). To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the Almighty, the Possessor of all power in Heaven and earth, so that none can defeat His counsels, thwart His purpose, or resist His will (Psalm 115:3). To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is "The Governor among the nations" (Psalm 22:28), setting up kingdoms, overthrowing empires, and determining the course of dynasties as pleaseth Him best. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the "Only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords" (1 Tim. 6:15). Such is the God of the Bible." A. W. Pink, The Sovereignty of God, chapter 1.

God's sovereignty in salvation

God's sovereignty in salvation means that He saves whom He will, and those whom He saves owe nothing to anything in or of themselves. They are saved because God graciously chose them in eternity and regenerated and called them in history. They cannot even take credit for their faith because it is the gift that He Himself sovereignly bestows. (Ephesians 2: 8-10)

Ephesians 2:8-10

New International Version (NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Sovereignty of God – Bible verses:

Romans 8:28

New International Version (NIV)

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Isaiah 55:8-9

New International Version (NIV)

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways
and My thoughts than your thoughts.

Ephesians 1:11
New International Version (NIV)

11 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will…

Isaiah 46:11

New International Version (NIV)

11 From the east I summon a bird of prey;
from a far-off land, a man to fulfill My purpose.
What I have said, that I will bring about;
what I have planned, that I will do.

Jeremiah 32:17

New International Version (NIV)

17 “Ah, Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You.

2 Chronicles 20:6

New International Version (NIV)

and said:
Lord, the God of our ancestors, are You not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in Your hand, and no one can withstand You.

Psalm 115:3

New International Version (NIV)

Our God is in heaven;
    He does whatever pleases Him.

Psalm 22:27-28

New International Version (NIV)

27 All the ends of the earth
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
    will bow down before Him,
28 for dominion belongs to the Lord
and He rules over the nations.

Forgiveness - Mark 11:25

This is Namma for Christ with the seventy-sixth inspirational message dated - Friday, January 1st, 2016.

This message is about FORGIVENESS - God forgives us and He wants us to forgive others.

The title of this message is "Forgiveness- Mark 11:25".This was first written by me on September 26th, 2012 - I want to share this message "again" with you. Also, I have included "forgiveness" scriptures at the end of the message.

Please read and enjoy the song and video at the end of the message entitled, "Forgiveness" - by Matthew West - sung with power and anointing! This message is based on the below scripture text found in the book of Mark from the New Testament (KJV):

Mark 11:25

King James Version (KJV)

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

(Below is the previous "FORGIVENESS" message of 9/26/12):

This is Namma for Christ sharing with you my fourth inspirational message. This is being sent on 9/26/2012 - the subject and the title are the same: FORGIVENESS. The scripture is coming from: Mark 11:25 - "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive your trespasses." Recently, at my church, the associate minister did a great job giving a sermon on Joseph, his brothers and "forgiveness". This minister showed how Joseph forgave His brothers for their mistreatment of him and how Jesus forgives us for our sins. We, as Christians try to live the best that we can - but all have sinned. We are all sinners saved by God's Grace. As Romans 3:23 reminds us - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." In Genesis 37:24, Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and they cast him into a pit. Soon after, as found in Genesis 37:28, his brothers drew him out of the pit and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver, who then took him to Egypt. As the bible story continues, Joseph rises in position to eventually be second in command over Egypt, right under Pharaoh. In Genesis 41:40, Pharaoh tells Joseph, "You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you." In verse Genesis 41:56, it states what happened after Joseph had wisely prepared and stored away food for the upcoming famine- "There was a famine over all the face of the earth, and Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold to the Egyptians". The same brothers of Joseph who had put him into a pit, now had to bow before him for their very survival during the famine. But, how did Joseph react when his brothers were fearful and thought Joseph would take revenge on their wrongdoing? Joseph forgave. Joseph said in Genesis 45:5 - "And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you".  Joseph also said in Genesis 50:20 - "But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive". In summary, man meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.... What does Jesus do when we come repentant and sorry for our wrongdoings...what does He do when we confess our sins? Jesus forgives...and He never stops loving us...Hebrews 13:5 says "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." "Forgiveness" is surrendering "our right" to "hurt you" for "hurting me"....if Jesus can forgive "us"....how can we "not" forgive others for hurting us? As forgiven people, we never have the right to withhold pardon from others. But remember, that forgiving does not require you to remain in an abusive situation.

1st Peter 5:7 states : WE MUST CAST ALL OUR CARE ON HIM, FOR HE CARES FOR US. JESUS IS THE ANSWER FOR ANY PROBLEM YOU OR I HAVE....

Light of the World: Jesus - John 8:12

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This is Namma for Christ with the seventy-fifth inspirational message dated, Sunday, December 13th, 2015.

On December 19th, 2023 - I was inspired to update this previous message to reflect and share Bible verses relating to the title of this message of "JESUS being the Light of the World".

Please read...be blessed...and enjoy the inspiring song/video (with lyrics) entitled "Light of the World" by Lauren Daigle at the end of the message.

Jesus is the GREATEST GIFT we have ever been given! See John 3:16 below:

John 3:16

King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Luke 2:10-11 tells of when an angel of the Lord told of Jesus' birth:

 Luke 2:10-11

King James Version (KJV)

10 And the angel said unto them (the shepherds), "Fear not; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

The scripture for this message is taken from John 8:12 -

where Jesus says that "He is the Light of the World":

John 8:12

New Life Version (NLV)

12 Jesus spoke to all the people, saying, “I am the Light of the world. Anyone who follows Me will not walk in darkness. He will have the Light of Life.”

JESUS IS THE LIGHT as found in both John 1:4 and John 9:5 below:

John 1:4

New King James Version (NKJV)

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

John 9:5

New King James Version (NKJV)

5As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

Below are additional verses regarding how Jesus desires us as believers to "let our lights shine":

Matthew 5:14-16

New King James Version (NKJV)

14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

May we all "WALK IN THE LIGHT" - as "HE IS IN THE LIGHT" as the below verse states:

1st John 1:7

New King James Version (NKJV)

7But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

PRAISE GOD FOR JESUS! THANK THE LORD FOR HIS MANY BLESSINGS...

PLEASE REMEMBER "JESUS"...TRULY IS ..."THE REASON FOR THE SEASON"!

LIVE FOR JESUS... SHARE WITH OTHERS ALL THAT THE LORD HAS DONE FOR YOU! PRAY AND ASK THE LORD HOW YOU CAN BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS - AS YOU ARE BLESSED!

Come As You Are - COMFORT- 2 Corin. 1:3-4

This is Namma for Christ with the seventy-fourth inspirational message dated Saturday, November 21st, 2015. The title of this message is: "Come As You Are:  COMFORT – 2 Corin. 1:3-4". This message is based on the below scripture text from  the second book of Corinthians as found in the New Testament  - where the writer, the Apostle Paul, informs the reader about the COMFORT of GOD and how GOD comforts us to help us be comforters:

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

King James Version (KJV)

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

This message is all about "COMFORT" - the COMFORT of GOD and how through HIS helping us to be COMFORTED...we can be COMFORTERS of others. Below is a beautiful meditation from R. Tuck on the subject of  "comforting".

Personally speaking, when my dear father passed away in January of 2003, I didn't know what I would do. But God...in His love, mercy, comfort, grace, strength, peace and guidance through His Holy Spirit - helped me through the loss of my dad. I pray that this message may comfort someone else.

Philippians 4:6-7

King James Version (KJV)

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Remember - Jesus said, He will NEVER leave you, nor forsake you…

Hebrews 13:5King James Version (KJV)

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Comforted, And Therefore Comforters
(2nd Corinthians 1:4) by R. Tuck

It may seem strange that the Bible, and Christian ministers following its example, should deal so frequently and so largely with troubles and afflictions. You sometimes half suspect that Christian people must have a larger share of earthly sorrow than fails to the lot of others.

Our afflictions and our comfortings can become a blessing to others:
"so that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble."

Our sorrows have by no means exhausted their stores of blessing when they have dispelled our doubts, delivered us from our dangers, and cultured our characters; they have stores of blessing left in them still, with which, through us, to enrich and comfort others.

But the Christian's experiences are not of griefs only; they are of griefs together with Divine comfortings, and these together bring a peculiar kind of power.

How different are the consolations offered by stricken than by unstricken ones! The unstricken can find beautiful words, and be truly sincere as they utter them. But the stricken ones can express unutterable things in silence and look. They can also "feel" compassion similarly and express a true, sympathetic "understanding" - because...they've "BEEN THERE".

The plant of healing sympathies grows and blossoms and fruitens
out of our very wounds and tears.

It will be reasonable to expect that, if God has high places of work for us, and valuable influence for us to exert, He will need to bring us through great and sore troubles.

Paul recognizes this in our text. How his life was filled with anxieties.

He did not care to be always talking about himself; only once or twice does he lift the veil and show his secret history; but there - in much affliction awaiting him everywhere, and the comfortings of God abounding in all - is the explanation of his mighty and gracious influence. He was "comforted of God that he might be able to comfort them which are in any trouble." The same truth shines out even more clearly from the life and Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is able to succour (or help) because in all points tempted. Lifted up, "He draws all men unto him" gaining His influence by His own sufferings borne in patience and faith. Winning power to save and help the world by dying an agonizing death and knowing, in the uttermost needs of a dying hour, the gracious comfortings of God.

You may have thought that your afflictions have set you aside from your work. No, they have just lifted you up to the trust of some of God's highest and best work. Tribulation worketh patience, experience, and hope. It matures the finer elements of character. But it does more - it fits us for work, for higher influence on others, enabling us to set before men all the power of a noble example. Our afflictions and comfortings are really our clothing with the soldier's dress, our putting on the soldier's armor, our grasping the soldier's weapons, our drilling for the soldier's service, that we may be good soldiers of the cross. Each one of us can become a comforter, a person of consolation. Comforted of God, let us learn to comfort others.
