You Say – I AM LOVED – 1 John 4:9-10

This is “Namma for Christ” with the one hundred thirty-sixth inspirational message dated Thursday, August 2nd, 2018.  The title of this message is, “You Say” – I AM LOVED – 1 John 4:9-10.  The first two words of this message are also the title of the above anointed song/video, “You Say” (with lyrics) by Lauren Daigle. The message’s scripture is below as found in 1st John, the 9th & 10th verses of the 4th chapter:

1 John 4:9-10

New International Version (NIV)

This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Recently, I was listening to my Christian radio station, 99.1 FM STAR, and I heard Lauren Daigle’s song, “You Say”.  I was touched by the tender and simple lyrics and the heartfelt expressions of the words. I knew that it was a song that I wanted to share with others in my “Namma for Christ” blog. This song is sung with passion – from the perspective of “a conversation between the singer and God”.

Put “yourself” in the singer’s position and sing the song to GOD for YOURSELF! MAKE THIS SONG AND THE MESSAGE “PERSONAL FOR YOU”! “THIS song” says what GOD WANTS for EACH OF US – to have a PERSONAL, LOVING RELATIONSHIP with JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD and SAVIOR! LET JESUS BE ALL THAT YOU NEED HIM TO BE – FOR YOU!

The first line of the chorus says:

“You Say – I am loved, when I can’t feel a thing; You Say – I am Strong, when I think I am weak…”

Thus, this song caused me to then research Bible verses that show how much God loves us:

In researching “bible verses” about GOD’s LOVE for us – I found the below Internet message under the website: drericz.com as written by Dr. Eric Zielinski:

BIBLE VERSES ABOUT GOD’S LOVE FOR US

By Dr. Eric Zielinski

(via Website: drericz.com – "Living the Abundant Life”)

Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so! Do you know that God loves you? One of my favorite bible verses about God's love for us is: We love because God first loved us. ~ 1 John 4:19

We know in our minds that God loves us. So why does it not always feel that way?

Some days we may feel alone and in despair. We need someone or something to remind us of His love. Many of us have a hard time understanding how big God's love for us really is. Grasping the concept that He loves us no matter how we feel about ourselves is hard. We may feel that we have to perform well for God to love us more, or we try to accomplish something to earn His loving hand and approval.

But God's love for us is never in doubt. Our works and deeds are done because we have a relationship with God, not because we earn more love. He loved us first and demonstrated His love when He sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for us. We have all fallen short and do not deserve such a love, but God gives it freely in spite of our failures.

Adoration, trust, and relationship are what He longs for in return.  No amount of words or deeds could compare to the love He has for us, but we can praise and give thanks to Him daily. The greatest commandment is to love Him with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

You need not feel alone ever, because the Lord is your rock to stand on, the strength you require, and the comfort in times of trouble. His love covers all of your needs faithfully.

May these Bible verses about God's love help you realize you are not alone. God loves you deeply, and He is our everything. May God Bless you abundantly.

Old Testament Bible Verses About God's Love:

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations.

~ Deuteronomy 7:9

But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.

~ Psalm 86:15

Give thanks to the God of gods, for His steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords: His love endures forever - to Him who alone does great wonders, His love endures forever.

~ Psalm 136:2-3

How precious is Your unfailing love, O God!

~ Psalm 36:7

The LORD Your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.

                                    ~ Zephaniah 3:17

Help me, LORD my God; save me according to Your unfailing love.

~ Psalm 109:26

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

~ Isaiah 41:10

New Testament Bible Verses About God's Love:

We love because He first loved us.

~ 1 John 4:19

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ— by grace you have been saved.
~ Ephesians 2:4-5

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
~ 1 John 4:16

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
~ 1 John 4:7

This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
~ 1 John 4:10

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
~ John 3:16

May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.
~ 2 Thessalonians 3:5

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that One died for all, and therefore all died. And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.                       ~ 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”                                                         ~ Galatians 2:20

Love never gives up on people. It never stops trusting, never loses hope, and never quits.                ~ 1 Corinthians 13:7

And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under His mighty hand by casting all your cares on Him because He cares for you.

~ 1 Peter 5:6-7

Forever - Declaring Dependence - John 15:5

This is “Namma for Christ” with the one hundred thirty-fifth inspirational message dated Saturday, July 7th, 2018.  The title of this message is, “Forever - Declaring Dependence - John 15:5”.  The first word in the title of this message, “Forever”, is also the title of the above anointed song/video (with lyrics) by Kari Jobe. The message’s scripture is below as found in the fifth verse of the fifteenth chapter of the Gospel of John - (These are Words spoken by Jesus:)

John 15:5

New King James Version (NKJV)

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

For many years, I have enjoyed reading the daily inspirational messages as provided by Our Daily Bread Ministries in their publications of  "Our Daily Bread".  I read the message for the day (dated Saturday, July 7th) and found it to be so beautiful and inspiring, I wanted to share it with you (see the below message).  Our Daily Bread Ministries has the website of:  ourdailybread.org so that you can read and enjoy life-changing wisdom of daily inspirational messages based on scripture from the Bible.

Declaring Dependence

Apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Laura’s mom was battling cancer. One morning Laura prayed for her with a friend. Her friend, who had been disabled for years by cerebral palsy, prayed: “Lord, you do everything for me. Please do everything for Laura’s mother.”

Laura was deeply moved by her friend’s “declaration of dependence” on God. Reflecting on the moment, she said, “How often do I acknowledge my need for God in everything? It’s something I should do every day!”

During His days on earth Jesus demonstrated continual dependence on His heavenly Father. One might think that because Jesus is God in a human body, He would have the best of all reasons to be self-sufficient. But when the religious authorities asked Him to give a reason for “working” on a legally ordained day of rest because He healed someone on the Sabbath, He responded, “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing” (John 5:19). Jesus declared His dependence as well!

Jesus’s reliance on the Father sets the ultimate example of what it means to live in relationship with God. Every moment we draw breath is a gift from God, and He wants our lives to be filled with His strength. When we live to love and serve Him through our moment-by-moment prayer and reliance on His Word, we are declaring our dependence on Him.
Written by James Banks

I need You for everything, Lord! Help me to live to serve You. I praise You for being my Savior and my strength!

Prayerlessness is our declaration of independence from God.

“No Matter What": Nothing Can Separate Us - Romans 8:38-39

This is “Namma for Christ” with the one hundred thirty-fourth inspirational message dated Thursday, July 5th, 2018.  The title of this message is, “No Matter What": Nothing Can Separate Us - Romans 8:38-39.  The first three words of the title, "No Matter What" are also the title of the above anointed song/video (with lyrics) by Ryan Stevenson - featuring Bart Millard. The message’s scripture is below as found in the book of Romans - as written by the Apostle Paul:

Romans 8:38-39

New King James Version (NKJV)

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

As to share with future readers and to provide a  brief quotation for critical review - I have included an excerpt of today's message from an inspirational book - (of which I'd like to recommend). The below message was taken from "Jesus Calling - Enjoying Peace In His Presence" as written by Sarah Young. This book was written from the perspective as if JESUS - was saying "these words" directly to "you"!  (Please read the below inspirational message:)

-----------------------------------

July 5th

Draw near to Me with a thankful heart, aware that your cup is overflowing with blessings. Gratitude enables you to perceive Me more clearly and to rejoice in our Love-relationship. Nothing can separate you from My loving Presence! That is the basis of your security. Whenever you start to feel anxious, remind yourself that your security rests in Me alone, and I am totally trustworthy.

You will never be in control of your life circumstances, but you can relax and trust in My control. Instead of striving for a predictable, safe lifestyle, seek to know Me in greater depth and breadth. I long to make your life a glorious adventure, but you must stop clinging to old ways.  I am always doing something new within My beloved ones. Be on the lookout for all that I have prepared for you.

Romans 8:38-39

New International Version (NIV)

38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Psalm 56:3-4

New King James Version (NKJV)

Whenever I am afraid,
I will trust in You.
In God (I will praise His word),

In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me?

Isaiah 43:19

New International Version (NIV)

19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.

The Answer: Dealing with Loss - Heb. 13:8

This is “Namma for Christ” with the one hundred thirty-third inspirational message dated Tuesday, June 12th, 2018.  The title of this message is, "The Answer: Dealing with Loss - Hebrews 13:8".  The first two words of the title, "The Answer" are also the words in the title of the above anointed song/video (with lyrics) by Jeremy Camp. The message’s scripture is below as found in the New Testament’s book of Hebrews:

Hebrews 13:8

New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

In "dealing with loss" – I remember the evening my Dad died from lung cancer.  After receiving the news, crying and gathering with my family – I had to “continue” to do the regular “things”…that one must do.

I remember having to go to the grocery store, that evening to buy a loaf of “bread” – that my family and I needed.

I wondered to myself, how would my “normal” life continue…without my Dad “living on earth”…

No longer would anything “be the same” again...even “shopping for a loaf of bread” would be “different”.

I asked myself and I asked God “simultaneously” the following questions,

“How in the world am I going to make it? “How could I go on…as “before”…without my Dad on this earth?

“I” had no answers…

But, Jesus did.

Jesus had the answer…BECAUSE HE IS “THE ANSWER”!

The answer came to me in a still, “small voice” – in my hearing. Jesus spoke to me by answering my question of, “how IN THE WORLD” was I going to make it?

He answered me by reminding me that I was NOT going to make it - by looking at  "THE WORLD” for answers – I had to look to HIM - “JESUS - THE ANSWER”!

I had to COMPLETELY DEPEND ON JESUS! I HAD TO LEAN ON HIM! I HAD TO GET MY DAILY STRENGTH FROM JESUS CHRIST, MY LORD AND SAVIOR!

JESUS WOULD BE MY “DAILY BREAD”…HE WOULD BE MY DAILY "MANNA" – SENT FROM HEAVEN!

As I walked through that grocery store, I remember whispering a prayer and asking the Lord, “Please Jesus…Help get me through this loss, I cannot do this on my own”…and Jesus did...He helped me.  Jesus answered my prayer THEN…and He continues to keep answering my prayers "now" - in His way and in His time!

Daily, Jesus gives me the strength to "keep on keepin’ on”… to do what must be done for me and my family…

Jesus gave me the strength THEN and He gives me the strength TODAY. Every day, Jesus gives me the strength, the energy and  the provisions to do what I have to do for myself and my family.

I realized that in this world – the ONE thing that is constant IS “CHANGE”. But, to counter this “ever changing" world – the ONE PERSON who NEVER changes is “JESUS”!

As Hebrews 13:8 reminds us -

Hebrews 13:8

New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

I CAN DEPEND ON MY LOVING, STRONG, POWERFUL, MERCIFUL, RELIABLE, TRUSTWORTHY, DEPENDABLE, NEVER-CHANGING LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!

This world changes from day-to-day…with different events, with us dealing with ever-changing circumstances ...that confront us on a daily basis…BUT, PRAISE GOD – JESUS DOES NOT CHANGE! WE CAN DEPEND ON AND TRUST IN JESUS!

My life is “different” – without my Dad…but I know and believe in my heart that he is in heaven now. My Dad is no longer suffering; he is at peace – in heaven, with Jesus! My Dad is whole, happy and free!

Since my Dad’s passing (even though I miss him and I fondly remember him)... I am living my life DEPENDING ON JESUS for MY DAILY BREAD.

Jesus reminds us in John 6:35 –

John 6:35

New King James Version (NKJV)

35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

WHATEVER – YOU NEED…JUST BELIEVE IN JESUS, AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE – for Philippians 4:19 reminds us that GOD WILL PROVIDE for ALL who come to Him:

Philippians 4:19

New King James Version (NKJV)

19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

His Yoke Is Easy - Matt. 11:28-30

This is Namma for Christ with the one hundred thirty-second inspirational message dated Saturday, June 2, 2018.  The title of this message is, “His Yoke Is Easy” – Matthew 11:28-30.

The title of this message is also the title of the above uplifting song/video entitled, His Yoke Is Easyas performed by Bishop Paul S. Morton, Sr. & The Greater St. Stephen Mass Choir.

The title of this message is taken from the below scripture from the New Testament book of Matthew:

Matthew 11:28-30
New International Version (NIV)

28 “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  Matthew 11:29 (NIV)

My high school cross-country coach once advised me before a race, “Don’t try to be in the lead. The leaders almost always burn out too quickly.” Instead, he suggested I stay close behind the fastest runners. By letting them set the pace, I could conserve the mental and physical strength I’d need to finish the race well.  Leading can be exhausting; following can be freeing. Knowing this improved my running, but it took me a lot longer to realize how this applies to Christian discipleship. In my own life, I was prone to think being a believer in Jesus meant trying really hard. By pursuing my own exhausting expectations for what a Christian should be, I was inadvertently missing the joy and freedom found in simply following Him (John 8:32, 36).

But we weren’t meant to direct our own lives, and Jesus didn’t start a self-improvement program. Instead, He promised that in seeking Him we will find the rest we long for (Matthew 11:25–28). Unlike many other religious teachers’ emphasis on rigorous study of Scripture or an elaborate set of rules, Jesus taught that it’s simply through knowing Him that we know God (v. 27). In seeking Him, we find our heavy burdens lifted (vv. 28–30) and our lives transformed.

Because following Him, our gentle and humble Leader (v. 29), is never burdensome—it’s the way of hope and healing. Resting in His love, we are free.

Lord, I’m so thankful I don’t have to be in charge of my own life. Help me rest in You.

True freedom is found in following Christ.

John 8:32
New International Version (NIV)

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

Even If

5/19/2018

The God we serve is able to deliver us from [the fire] . . . . But even if he does not, we want you to know, your majesty, that we will not serve your gods. Daniel 3:17–18

Sometimes life deals us a tremendous blow. Other times the miraculous happens.

Three young men, captives in Babylon, stood in front of the fearsome king of that land and boldly proclaimed that under no circumstances would they worship the giant image of gold towering above them. Together they declared: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from your majesty’s  hand. But even if He does not, we want you to know . . . we will not . . . worship the image” (Daniel 3:17–18).

These three men—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—were hurled into the fiery furnace; and God miraculously delivered them so that not a hair of their head was singed and their clothing was smoke-free (vv. 19–27). They had been prepared to die but their trust in God was unwavering—“even if” He had not saved them.

God desires that we cling to Him—even if our loved one isn’t healed, even if we lose our job, even if we are persecuted. Sometimes God rescues us from danger in this life, and sometimes He doesn’t. But the truth we can hold firmly is this: “The God we serve is able,” loves us, and is with us in every fiery trial, every even if.

My Life is in Your Hands – Psalm 25:1-2

This is “Namma for Christ” with the one hundred thirtieth  inspirational message dated Saturday, April 28th, 2018.  The title of this message is, “My Life is in Your Hands - Psalm 25:1-2”.  The title of this message is also the title of the above anointed song/video (with lyrics) by Kirk Franklin. The message’s scripture is below as found in the first two verses of Psalm 25 as written by the Psalmist David:

Psalm 25:1-2

New Living Translation (NLT)

Psalm 25

A psalm of David.

O Lord, I give my life to You.
I trust in You, my God!
Do not let me be disgraced,
or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.

David dealt with many challenges during his lifetime. At one time, he was being pursued and hunted down by jealous King Saul.  David knew that if he put himself in the Lord’s care, he would be well taken care of by the BEST – His Heavenly Father!  The same applies to us – If we do, as David did, and put ourselves in our Heavenly Father’s “Unchanging Hands” – we can be assured that we will be SAFE in His care.  Just as the lyrics of Kirk Franklins’ chorus (in the above song) state,

“Oh, I know that I can make it,

I know that I can stand –

No matter what may come my way,

My life is in Your hands.

God wants us – “His children” to know… to be reassured… and to be comforted by the fact - that WE CAN “TRUST GOD” TO TAKE CARE OF US…WE ARE "HIS"-

See the below verses:

Psalm 100:3

New King James Version (NKJV)

Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Proverbs 3:5-6

New King James Version (NKJV)

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,

And He shall direct your paths.

The second verse in our scripture says:

I trust in You, my God!
Do not let me be disgraced,
or let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.

Once we have established our TRUST in GOD – our dependence will not be on ourselves, but on our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ! We WILL DEPEND on God! We will look to HIM and focus on our Lord for EVERYTHING in our lives!

The verse continues by stating that we, as believers, should not feel “disgraced” – or be ashamed or feel condemned. Romans 8:1 reminds us:

Romans 8:1

New King James Version (NKJV)

Free from Indwelling Sin

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

If Jesus does not condemn us, then why should we?

Lastly, the final verse states “do not let my enemies rejoice in my defeat.”

God is your Defender, Helper and your Protector! Look at what God says to you in Isaiah 41:10 –

Isaiah 41:10

New King James Version (NKJV)

10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

God WILL protect you and BE WITH YOU – no matter what you are going through! God is Your Refuge – see the below encouraging verses:

Psalm 46:1

New King James Version (NKJV)

God the Refuge of His People and Conqueror of the Nations

46 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble
.

Psalm 18:2

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Isaiah 54:17

New King James Version (NKJV)

17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.

Remember, “the battle is not yours, It’s the LORD’S”:

2 Chronicles 20:15b

New King James Version (NKJV)

15b And he said, “Listen, all you of Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Beloved…BE COMFORTED that GOD IS WITH YOU!

“He will never leave you nor forsake you” as Hebrews 13:5 below confirms:

Hebrews 13:5

New King James Version (NKJV)

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
