Same God – Isaiah 26:7

This is Namma for Christ with the two hundred thirty-sixth inspirational message dated Wednesday, October 26th, 2022. The title of this message is “Same God – Isaiah 26:7”.

The first two words of this message’s title are also the name of the below inspirational song/video, “Same God” (with lyrics) as performed by Elevation Worship. The below passage of scripture (that accompanies this message) is from the Old Testament book of Isaiah – the seventh verse of the twenty-sixth chapter:

Isaiah 26:7

New Life Version (NLV)

The way of the man who is right with God is smooth. O Upright One, make the path straight of those who are right with You.

Recently, I was listening to my favorite Christian radio station STAR 99.1FM and I heard the below song, “Same God” for the first time. I loved the lyrics and the message behind the song. I knew after I heard this song, that I would want to share it in my next message. I also had read the meditation (for October 18th) in my daily devotional book: “Jesus Calling – Enjoying Peace in His Presence” - I knew that I would want to share this particular message, as well.

Please note – “this” inspirational book (as written by Sarah Young) is written from the “perspective” as if Jesus was saying these words “directly” to “you” – (I’d highly recommend to all readers this “daily devotional” book - to read or add to your inspirational meditations and/or spiritual library. Each daily meditation is followed by supporting applicable scriptures.)

The meditation (for October 18th) says:

“GO GENTLY THROUGH THIS DAY, keeping your eyes on Me. I will open up the way before you, as you take steps of trust along your path. Sometimes the way before you appears to be blocked. If you focus on the obstacle or search for a way around it, you will probably go off course. Instead, focus on Me, the Shepherd who is leading you along your life-journey. Before you know it, the “obstacle” will be behind you and you will hardly know how you passed through it.

That is the secret of success in My kingdom. Although you remain aware of the visible world around you, your primary awareness is of Me. When the road before you looks rocky, you can trust Me to get you through that rough patch. My Presence enables you to face each day with confidence.

John 10:14-15

New King James Version

14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

Isaiah 26:7

New Life Version (NLV)

The way of the man who is right with God is smooth. O Upright One, make the path straight of those who are right with You.

In the accompanied song/video, the chorus has the following words:

“O Rock, O Rock of ages –

I’m standing on Your faithfulness, On Your faithfulness!”

The “SAME GOD” Who helped the believers of old, is the “SAME GOD” HELPING US TODAY!

Hebrews 13:8 reminds us of this truth:

Hebrews 13:8

New King James Version

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Also, Hebrews 1:1-3 remind us – THE “SAME GOD” then – IS THE “SAME GOD” – NOW:

Hebrews 1:1-3

New King James Version (NKJV)

God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high

The Goodness – The Good Things in Life - Psalm 34:17-22

This is Namma for Christ with the two hundred thirty-fifth inspirational message dated Saturday, October 22nd, 2022. The title of this message is “The Goodness – The Good Things in Life - Psalm 34:17-22”.

The first two words of this message’s title are also the name of the below inspirational song/video, “The Goodness” (with lyrics) as performed by TobyMac and Blessing Offor. The below passage of scripture (that accompanies this message) is from the Old Testament book of Psalms – the seventeenth through the twenty-second verses of the thirty-fourth chapter:

Psalm 34:17-22

New King James Version (NKJV)

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears,
And delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart,
And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all.
20 He guards all his bones;
Not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked,
And those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.
22 The Lord redeems the soul of His servants,
And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

The title of this message includes the words “The Good Things in Life – which is the “title” of the Charles Stanley “In Touch” Daily Devotional for (10/18/22) – which I have included below:

The Good Things in Life

Knowing and pursuing God gives us our best life.

  Psalm 34:1-22

By Charles Stanley

How do we achieve the good life? Well, it depends on what you pursue and what you consider “good.” The world defines good things as items and experiences that make us happy. But from the Lord’s perspective, the good things in life are those that fit into His purpose and plan for us.

God’s will could include material prosperity, health, and opportunities, but He also considers periods of trouble, need, and suffering as valuable. The Lord prioritizes our spiritual well-being over physical or material comfort and ease.

Our Father wants us to seek Him rather than the treasures and pleasures of this life. If we do this, He promises we’ll “not lack any good thing” (Psalm 34:10 – see verse below).  We’re told to ask the Lord to meet our needs, but we should also come to Him with an open heart that seeks to know and love Him more.

Psalm 34:10

New King James Version (NKJV)

10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

God Himself is the highest good we could possibly seek. Everything that He gives, whether much or little, is a good and perfect gift from Him (James 1:17see verse below). When our pursuit is the Lord rather than the things of this world, we’ll be content with whatever we have (Psalm 37:4 - see verse below).

James 1:17

New King James Version (NKJV)

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Psalm 37:4

New King James Version (NKJV)

Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart
.

Withholding Nothing – Psalm 9:10-11

This is Namma for Christ with the two hundred thirty-fourth inspirational message dated Tuesday, October 11th, 2022. The title of this message is “Withholding Nothing – Psalm 9:10-11”.

The first two words of this message’s title are also the name of the below inspirational song/video, “Withholding Nothing” (with lyrics) as performed by gospel artist and pastor William McDowell. The below passage of scripture (that accompanies this message) is from the Old Testament book of Psalms – the tenth and eleventh verses of the ninth chapter:

Psalm 9:10-11

New King James Version (NKJV)

10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion!
Declare His deeds among the people.

Recently, I was scrolling through my YouTube Gospel song favorites and I saw the below video of “Withholding Nothing” (with lyrics) by William McDowell – and I knew that I just had to stop and listen to this song. I had heard this song sung before, but listening to it “this time” – caused me to stop and reflect on the thought-provoking and touching lyrics. I knew that I would want to share “this” song in my next message. I also had read the meditation (for October 10th) of my daily devotional book: “Jesus Calling – Enjoying Peace in His Presence” and I knew I had to share it with this song.

The meditation (for October 10th) says:

“TRUST ME ENOUGH to let things happen without striving to predict or control them. Relax, and refresh yourself in the Light of my everlasting Love. My Love-Light never dims, yet you are often unaware of My radiant Presence. When you project yourself into the future, rehearsing what you will do or say, you are seeking to be self-sufficient: to be adequate without My help. This is a subtle sin – so common that it usually slips by unnoticed.

The alternate is to live fully in the present, depending on Me each moment. Rather than fearing your inadequacy, rejoice in My abundant supply. Train your mind to seek My help continually, even when you feel competent to handle something by yourself. Don’t divide your life into things you can do by yourself and things that require My help. Instead, learn to rely on Me in every situation. This discipline will enable you to enjoy life more and to face each day confidently.”

Psalm 37:3-6

New King James Version

Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday.

Philippians 4:19

New King James Version

19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Psalm 9:10-11

New King James Version

10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You;
For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion!
Declare His deeds among the people.

Also, remember – without God, we could do nothing:

John 15:5

New King James Version

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

Maybe It’s OK – Luke 15:18-20, 25-27 – A Father Rejoices

This is “Namma for Christ” with the two hundred thirty-third inspirational message dated Sunday, September 18th, 2022.  The title of this message is, “Maybe It’s OK – Luke 15:18-20, 25-27 – A Father Rejoices”.  “Maybe It’s OK” is an inspirational and “self-accepting” song as performed by the Christian group “We Are Messengers”- their song/video (with lyrics) is found at the end of this message.

Self-Acceptance” is defined as “an individual’s acceptance of all of their attributes, positive or negative”. When we’re self-accepting, we embrace every part of ourselves, not just the “positive” things! Self-acceptance is unconditional – you can recognize weaknesses, but still fully accept yourself.

The below scripture (that accompanies this message) is found in the New Testament book of Luke – the eighteenth through the twentieth verses and the twenty-fifth through the twenty-seventh verses of the 15th chapter (note: this passage is part of the well-known parable famously called, “The Prodigal Son” – Luke 15:11-32):

Luke 15:18-20

New King James Version (NKJV)

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”

20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

Luke 15:25-27

New King James Version (NKJV)

25 “Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.’

Recently, I read my church school lessons (I read the September 2022 meditations) as found in the lesson book from the “Echoes Church School Publications”. The lesson (for September 25th) was so interesting – I knew I wanted to share it in my next “Namma for Christ” message. The title of the lesson is “A Father Rejoices”:

A Father Rejoices

Luke 15:25-27

(Background text: Luke 15:11-32)

The sound of joy rings in the air as a father rejoices that his wayward son has come home. Although the family was not perfect, the father’s love surpassed the sins of the younger son. The grateful father arranged a grand celebration just because his son had come home. The celebration was about maintaining a strong and supportive family unit for a loved one who recognized his poor decision: “Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you” (Luke 15:18).

17 “But when he (the prodigal son) came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19 and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”

But the prodigal son came home to a broken family. Sadly, his older brother had stayed home, caused no problems, and did what was expected of him. He was angered at the love shown to his brother. He felt as if he should be given a grand feast for himself and friends – why not celebrate his faithfulness? When the father noticed his older son was not participating, he went to tell him that although they were an imperfect family, they were still going to dedicate themselves to God’s purposes of being a loving, caring, and accepting family.

That is a mirror of God’s heavenly family. With the parable, we see that both prodigals and children who stay home are welcome in God’s family where love abounds.

Always remember – our sufficiency is found in Jesus Christ! JESUS LOVES US!

2nd Corinthians 3:4-6

New King James Version (NKJV)

And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Ephesians 2:4-5

New King James Version (NKJV)

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).

Build A Boat – Hebrews 11:7

This is “Namma for Christ” with the two hundred thirty-second inspirational message dated Wednesday, September 7th, 2022.  The title of this message is, “Build A Boat – Hebrews 11:7”.  Build A Boat” is a positive and inspirational song as performed by Christian artist, “Colton Dixon”.  The below scripture (that accompanies this message) is found in the New Testament book of Hebrews – the seventh verse of the eleventh chapter:

Hebrews 11:7

New Living Translation (NLT)

It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith.

I recently was listening to my favorite Christian radio station – STAR 99.1FM, and I heard the song, “Build A Boat” by Colton Dixon.

I listened carefully and thoughtfully to the lyrics and they “touched me” so much…I knew that I would have to share “this” song in my next message.

I went on the internet and researched the writer and singer of this song - “Colton Dixon”. I found his “inspiration” for writing this song to be so honest and “so faith-filled”.  In the article (from “The Turning” as written by Abby Young) – “he” (Colton Dixon) stated:

The concept behind this song is stepping out in faith before you see the miracle or whatever it is that God has promised come to fruition. God’s a Man of His word. So whatever He says is gonna happen. If He’s telling you something or He’s put something on your heart, step out and do it.

Personally speaking, this song caused me to reflect on how God has demonstrated His love and “how throughout my life – I’ve had to pray for direction from the Lord to lead and guide me.

God has given all mankind “free-will” to choose - whether to “obey” God and receive “His” blessings or choose our own way – and suffer the consequences…

Let us all obey God’s will and His way – to fulfill His BEST plans for us – (see Jeremiah 29:11 below)!

Jeremiah 29:11

New King James Version (NIV)

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Below is a verse that describes God’s unselfish, all-encompassing, all-inclusive and GREAT LOVE for ALL who believe in His Son - Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:

John 3:16

New King James Version (NKJV)

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Our Lord wants ALL to come to HIM – He wishes that no one perish - see the below verse:

2 Peter 3:9

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

God LOVES you!

He wants what is BEST for you!

In the below accompanied song, “Build A Boat” – Noah was told by God (see Gen. 6:13-22) to build a boat and he did it!

Noah obeyed God and was blessed for his obedience – may we, too, obey God and receive our blessings!

GOD IS IN CONTROL – PRAY, TRUST AND OBEY GOD!

OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE!

1ST Samuel 15:22 states

1st Samuel 15:22

New Life Version (NLV)

22 Samuel said, “Is the Lord pleased as much with burnt gifts as He is when He is obeyed? See, it is better to obey than to give gifts. It is better to listen than to give the fat of rams.
