Here I am to Worship - Luke 1:38 - I'm His Servant

This is Namma for Christ with the twenty-fourth inspirational message dated Friday, March 1st, 2013. The title of this message is "Here I am to Worship - Luke 1:38 - I'm His Servant". The scripture text for this message is found in  Luke 1: 28-38. The main scripture verse is found in Luke 1:38 - please read below:

Luke 1: 28-38

New International Version (NIV)
28 The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You will conceive and give birth to a Son, and you are to call Him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, 33 and He will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; His kingdom will never end.”
34 “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.”
38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

The main scripture verse in found in  Luke 1:38 :

38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

This scripture for this message tells about when "Mary", the mother of  our Lord and Savior, Jesus, was informed by the angel Gabriel that she was highly favored,  the Lord was with her, and that she would conceive in her womb and bring forth God's Son, Jesus, the Savior of the world. She was an "ordinary" young woman who was about to be used by God for  HIS "EXTRAORDINARY" PURPOSE.

Mary's response is a model for "all of us" - (may we "all" respond as Mary did, to "whatever" God calls us to do for HIM):

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.”

Her attitude is a great example for all of us - SHE WAS WILLING - SHE WAS HUMBLE and OBEDIENT TO THE LORD'S WILL FOR HER LIFE....EVEN THOUGH SHE MAY NOT HAVE UNDERSTOOD ALL THAT SHE WOULD GO THROUGH OR ENDURE...SHE WAS WILLING! SHE KNEW GOD WAS WITH HER.

AS WITH US, WE MAY NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT WE MAY HAVE TO ENDURE...BUT FOR GOD'S GREAT GLORY AND HONOR AND FOR "ALL THAT HE'S DONE FOR US"...LET US BE WILLING. MAY THE LORD'S "WILL" BE DONE IN OUR LIVES FOR HIS GLORY AND WE WILL BE BLESSED FOR OBEYING GOD!
