"PRECIOUS LORD, TAKE MY HAND" - MATT. 14: 22 - 32

This is Namma for Christ with the thirty-eighth inspirational message dated Sunday, August 25th, 2013.  The title of  this message is"PRECIOUS LORD, TAKE MY HAND" - MATTHEW 14: 22-32.  The title of this message is taken from the great gospel song, "PRECIOUS LORD, TAKE MY HAND",  written by the late Thomas Dorsey  (1899-1993), known as the father of Gospel music. The scripture comes from the book of Matthew in the 14th chapter (see below scripture text), where Jesus "walked on the sea" as He approached the disciples (who were in a ship "in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves")

Matthew 14:22-32
King James Version (KJV)
22 And straightway Jesus constrained His disciples to get into a ship, and to go before Him unto the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.
23 And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up into a mountain apart: and when the evening was come, He was there alone.
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
28 And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be Thou, bid me come unto Thee on the water.
29 And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

In the above text, in verse 26, upon seeing Jesus walking on the sea, they were all at first "troubled", saying: "It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear". But, Jesus reassured the disciples saying, "Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid." Then Peter said, "Lord, if it be Thou, bid me come unto Thee on the water."  Jesus replied to Peter (in the 29th verse) by stating, "Come." The scripture then states, "And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus".  While Peter trusted in Jesus' miraculous power, he  looked to and depended on JESUS...Look at the results:  Peter actually "walked on water"! Verse 30 follows with what happened when Peter started "worrying" about "what" was troubling him : the boisterous wind". Peter then began to be "afraid'. Instead of "continuing" to remember to focus on JESUS - amid the storm and winds around him..... Peter momentarily lost focus of "WHO" CAN HOLD YOU UP DURING A STORM! When "he (Peter) saw the boisterous wind" Peter then became "afraid" and began to "sink".

When Peter "stopped" looking to JESUS (WHO IS OUR SAVIOR, OUR LORD, OUR DELIVERER  AND OUR GREAT PROBLEM SOLVER) .....Peter began to be afraid and began to "sink" when he focused on "his problem"!

But did Peter stay down.....NO.....what did he do...after he started "sinking"? He CRIED OUT TO JESUS - HIS LORD AND SAVIOR!

PETER CRIED, SAYING, "LORD, SAVE ME!"

VERSE 31 SHOWS HOW OUR LORD IS ALWAYS THERE TO CATCH HIS CHILDREN WHEN WE CALL OR CRY OUT TO HIM.....

JESUS LOVES US AND HE IS THERE TO REACH OUT HIS "UNCHANGING HAND" ...IF WE "FALL"....OR BEGIN TO "SINK" AMID OUR PROBLEMS...OR BECOME AFRAID.

ALWAYS REMEMBER...WE CAN CRY OUT AND SAY, "PRECIOUS LORD, TAKE MY HAND"  TO HELP US IN OUR TRIALS, TRIBULATIONS, PROBLEMS,  WORRIES AND FEARS.

WE DON'T HAVE TO BE OVERWHELMED WITH WHAT "COMES AGAINST"  US...WE HAVE JESUS ON OUR SIDE! JESUS CAN HELP US  DO WHAT WE CAN'T DO ON OUR OWN.... WE MUST BELIEVE IN HIM, OBEY HIM, PRAY TO HIM AND TRUST JESUS - AT ALL TIMES!

HEBREWS 13: 5 REASSURES US - "I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE":

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

1ST PETER 5:7 REMINDS US WHAT JESUS WANTS US TO DO BECAUSE HE CARES FOR US:

1 Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Imagine Me - Rom. 8:28 GOD Works All Things Together For Good

This is Namma for Christ with the thirty-seventh inspirational message dated Monday, August 12th, 2013. The title of this message is, "Imagine Me - Rom. 8:28 GOD Works All things Together for Good". The title of this message is taken from the scripture found in Romans 8:28 of the New Testament in which Paul wrote about how God works "ALL  THINGS TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD, TO THEM WHO ARE THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE." (see below scripture below):

Romans 8:28

King James Version (KJV)
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.

ALWAYS REMEMBER: GOD IS IN CONTROL!

HE KNOWS WHAT IS BEST "SPECIFICALLY" AND "UNIQUELY" FOR EACH ONE OF HIS CHILDREN!

ROMANS 8:28 IS A PROMISE FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE ACCEPTED JESUS AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. ALL THINGS - "GOOD AND BAD, HAPPY AND SAD" ..... "ALL THINGS" WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD.....TO THEM THAT LOVE GOD AND TO THEM WHO ARE  THE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE! GOD CAN USE "ALL" THE EVENTS IN OUR LIVES FOR OUR OVERALL GOOD! HE IS THE POTTER...WE ARE THE CLAY (AS THE BELOW SCRIPTURE STATES):

Isaiah 64:8
But now, O Lord, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our Potter; and we all are the work of Thy Hand.

TRUST GOD....HE IS THE MASTER WEAVER OF THE EVENTS OF OUR LIVES! EVEN THOUGH, WE MAY NOT "UNDERSTAND" WHAT WE ARE PRESENTLY GOING THROUGH...WE HAVE TO CONTINUE TO LOOK TO OUR LORD! WE MUST TRUST IN OUR LORD! ( as Proverbs 3: 5-6 state below):

Proverbs 3:5-6

King James Version (KJV)
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

WE MUST WAIT ON OUR LORD! (As the below scriptures state):

Psalm 27:14

King James Version (KJV)

14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Psalm 37:7
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Psalm 37:34
Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it

Isaiah 40:31

King James Version (KJV)

31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Furthermore, as we are praying to, waiting (while trusting the Lord) and asking for HIS GUIDANCE EVERYDAY.....WE MUST PRAISE HIM IN THE MIDST of our trials and challenges.  God has a divine purpose in our lives...we must remember that God is our HEAVENLY FATHER who wants the BEST FOR US. As the below scriptures state - GOD LOVES US SO MUCH THAT HE SENT HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST to this earth for us:

Romans 8:31 - 37:

Romans 8:31-37

King James Version (KJV)
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.

REMEMBER: WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH "HIM" THAT LOVED US!

The remaining scriptures (verses 38-39) of  Romans 8 reminds us of  what the apostle Paul wrote - that "NOTHING" should separate us from the love of God, which is in CHRIST JESUS our LORD!

Romans 8:38-39

King James Version (KJV)
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ALWAYS REMEMBER: GOD LOVED US SO MUCH THAT HE SENT US HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST, AS JOHN 3:16 READS BELOW:

John 3:16

King James Version (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

REMEMBER - YOU ARE LOVED BY THE LORD AND AS ROMANS 8:28 REMINDS US:

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose"
